Care Giver Visa


The Care giver are the individuals those provide care for children, the elderly or people with disabilities in private homes without supervision, must meet certain requirements to be eligible for the Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP) in Canada.This program allows applicants to come to Canada for work either as a home child care provider with a Canadian family or a caregiver for people with high medical needs.After 2 years they become eligible to apply within Canada for permanent residence visa.
This visa allows applicants who meet the requirements detailed below with the equivalent of a Canadian 1 year Post-Secondary Credential Visa or at least 12 months of work experience to file an application. CIC has introduced 2 pathways for permanent residency for caregivers

  • Caregivers for children or
  • Caregivers for people with high medical needs

    The basic requirements for the caregiver visa are:

  • A job offer letter from a Canadian employer in a designated occupation;
  • A written contract with the future employer including certain mandatory provisions;
  • Successful completion of the equivalent of a 1 year post-secondary Canadian credential;
  • Meets the educational and employment requirements or the designated occupation.
